Katie Weber started her first day at an after school program with a classroom overflowing with PE equipment, excess classroom furniture, and a very active group of first graders. Once she learned the ropes of classroom management she enjoyed teaching the students a flash mob dance, tie-dying shirts (and her own hands), as well as coaching the program’s basketball team. She later discovered her love of summer camps and museum education while completing her degree in Biology from Simpson University. Now she works as an Educator at Turtle Bay Exploration Park in Redding, CA where she coordinates and implements camps, field trips, and other educational programs. As a science nerd and a creative at heart, she strives to find experiential and meaningful ways to bring STEAM into the informal education world. When not in the classroom or office, you will find her attempting to garden, testing out new recipes, or enjoying video games.
