The essence of Mission Zero: Select a real-world challenge, use the Mission Zero methodology to create a possible future scenario; then students imagine, build and solve problems related to that future.
A few years ago, I started asking a simple question.
Not about curriculum. Not about test scores.
About a moment.
There are moments in history when everything changes.
The printing press. Industrialization. The internet.
Now…another moment is here.
Not just a new technology— but a shift in how humans create, think, and solve problems.
When everything changes, what it means to prepare students changes too.
And the question I’ve been sitting with is this:
What does it mean to guide a child…standing at this kind of moment, a threshold?
